WHAT WE STAND FOR

Establish working relations with specialist sections of Ghana Medical Association, Non-Governmental Mental Health Organizations in Ghana, other Associations of Psychiatrists in Africa, World Psychiatric Association, WHO, UNICEF, UNESCO, and other relevant national and international bodies.

Establish and maintain avenues of co-operation and collaboration between psychiatrists and workers in related fields in Ghana.

Bring about exchange of information among psychiatrists in Ghana as regards social, cultural, medical and psychological aspects of mental health.

Organize periodic scientific meetings for the Association.

WHO CAN JOIN?

All Psychiatrists and residents in Psychiatry, as registered by the Medical and Dental Council, and working in either in Ghana or diaspora are eligible for full membership.

 

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP?

Corresponding member- any member who subsequently leaves Ghana; any duly qualified person residing outside Ghana who desires membership.

Associate membership - .Residents in training, doctors working in psychiatry, medical students

Honorary membership-people who have rendered outstanding services to Psychiatry in Ghana.

  4. To see to the promotion of every aspect of mental health principles in Ghana and to provide avenues for exchanging ideas among all workers in the various fields of mental health.
